Application of Interferometric Point Target Analysis to Izu-oshima Volcano, Japan
The Interferometric Point Target Analysis (IPTA) technique was applied to Izu-Oshima volcano, Japan, using both JERS SAR data from 1992 to 1998 and a 50-meter mesh digital elevation model (DEM) measured in 1981. The caldera region showed significant extension in the radar line-of-sight (LOS) at a maximum rate of 4 cm/yr around the 1986 eruption vent. Also, the DEM turns out be corrected by 10-3...
متن کاملPandemic Influenza Virus Surveillance, Izu-Oshima Island, Japan
A population-based influenza surveillance study (using PCR virus subtyping) on Izu-Oshima Island, Japan, found that the cumulative incidence of influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 virus infections 2 seasons after the pandemic was highest for those 10-14 years of age (43.1%). No postpandemic A(H1N1)pdm09 case-patients had been infected with A(H1N1)pdm09 virus during the pandemic season.
متن کاملThe Paleomagnetic Significance of Aeromagnetic Surveys of the Hawaiian Islands!
Aeromagnetic surveys of the Hawaiian Islands have revealed that the pr imary magnetic anomalies associated with the islands are dipole anomalies caused by the intrusive rocks of the volcanic centers and rift zones. Comparisons of the direction of magn etization indicated by the dipole anomalies with results of laboratory measurements on iavas show that in many cases the lavas possess reverse po...
متن کاملAutonomous Aeromagnetic Surveys Using a Fluxgate Magnetometer
Recent advances in the research of autonomous vehicles have showed a vast range of applications, such as exploration, surveillance and environmental monitoring. Considering the mining industry, it is possible to use such vehicles in the prospection of minerals of commercial interest beneath the ground. However, tasks such as geophysical surveys are highly dependent on specific sensors, which mo...
متن کاملElectric and magnetic phenomena observed before the volcano-seismic activity in 2000 in the Izu Island Region, Japan.
Significant anomalous changes in the ultra low frequency range (approximately 0.01 Hz) were observed in both geoelectric and geomagnetic fields before the major volcano-seismic activity in the Izu Island region, Japan. The spectral intensity of the geoelectric potential difference between some electrodes on Niijima Island and the third principal component of geomagnetic field variations at an a...
